How to get your appointment
for fingerprints (TIE)

“No hay citas” (no appointments) is the usual sight, especially in big provinces. But slots are released in batches and go in seconds. This guide is about being ready at the right moment.

The trick isn’t checking more often — it’s booking within seconds when a slot appears. The prepared win, not the persistent.

1. Prepare your data in advance

The form asks for three fields: N.I.E., Nombre y apellidos (full name in one line, as in your passport) and País de nacionalidad (nationality, from a dropdown). Keep them ready to paste in seconds.

2. Get Cl@ve or a certificate

Logging in with a digital certificate (Cl@ve / FNMT / DNIe) improves appointment access — it’s the anti-bot check. Booking for yourself? The “Copiar a datos solicitante” button fills your data automatically.

3. Try at the right time

Slots are released in batches, usually early morning on weekdays. Around midday, cancelled appointments reappear. Watch your province for a few days — the windows repeat.

4. “No hay citas” is normal

When there are no slots, you can’t even pick an office — there’s nothing to browse. Just check the portal and wait for the Oficina to release nuevas citas (new slots). When they appear, grab one.

5. Book instantly

A slot lasts seconds — don’t leave to “think about it”, book now. The appointment is individual: one slot per family member. You can catch them one by one, no need to wait for several in a row.

6. Make a paste-ready card

Gather your fields — N.I.E., Nombre y apellidos, nationality — into one note or card you can paste from in one tap. No losing the slot while hunting for data. We can prepare this card for you too.

The fingerprint appointment is free. Sites and bots that “sell” slots break the portal’s rules and get blocked by the State — don’t pay for something that should be free.
